Forty Year Sentence Imposed for Home Invasion Conviction St. Clair County State’s Attorney Brendan F. Kelly announced today that Cortez D. Richardson (d.o.b. 12/14/1980) of Cahokia, Illinois, has been sentenced to forty years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for a Home Invasion that occurred on Market Avenue in East St. Louis, Illinois on June 23, 2009. Guilty Verdicts Returned in Sexual Assault Case A St. Clair County jury found Christopher J. Willis (D.O.B. 06/08/1993) of East St. Louis, Illinois, guilty of two counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault and one count of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse. The jury acquitted Willis on one count of Armed Robbery. The jury deliberated for approximately seven hours before returning their verdicts. Convicter Murderer Found Guilty St. Clair County State’s Attorney Brendan F. Kelly announced today that a St. Clair County jury found Anthony R. Drakes (d.o.b. 11/29/1958) of Swansea, Illinois, guilty of the offenses of Aggravated Battery and Domestic Battery – Subsequent Offense. Drakes had been accused of punching his girlfriend in the face and striking her in the leg with a baseball bat. The jury deliberated less than an hour before returning a verdict of guilty. Kelly announced today that fifty-three year old Jon Demers (d.o.b. 07/02/1957) of Collinsville, Illinois has been charged in two separate files with eight additional counts of crimes alleging sexual misconduct with minors. Wood River Man Receives 15 Year Sentence for the Manufacturing of Methamphetamine On August 9, 2011, Clifford J. Cook (d.o.b. 06/26/1982) of Wood River, Illinois pleaded guilty to one count of Aggravated Participation in Methamphetamine Manufacturing and was sentenced to fifteen years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by the Honorable Judge Michael Cook. The defendant will be required to serve seventy-five percent of this sentence. Police Officer Charged With Aggrivated Battery St. Clair County State’s Attorney Brendan F. Kelly today charged forty-four year old David L. Lauer, II (d.o.b. 05/26/1967) of Troy, Illinois with one count of Aggravated Battery and one count of Domestic Battery. East St. Louis man Charged With Felony Domestic Battery St. Clair County State’s Attorney Brendan F. Kelly announced today that thirty-seven year old Larry L. East St. Louis Man Found Guilty in Nightclub Shooting A St. Clair County jury convicted Dorian Brown (1/24/1974), of East St. Louis, of three counts of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm for his involvement in a shooting on July 19, 2008, at Club Phoenix, an East St. Louis nightclub.
